Thank You

Whether it's in a backyard pool, a lake, or a river, most dogs love swimming during the summer. While swimming is excellent exercise and a great way to cool off, it can also take a toll on your dog's skin and coat if proper care isn't taken afterward.
Rinse Away Chlorine, Salt, and Bacteria
After every swim, wash your dog with lukewarm water and a quality dog shampoo to remove chlorine, salt, algae, sand, and bacteria from their coat. These substances can cause unpleasant odours, skin irritation, infections, hot spots, and, in some cases, matting.
Pay special attention to the collar area, belly, groin, and between the toes, as these areas tend to stay damp longer and are more likely to develop painful hot spots.

Dry Your Dog Thoroughly
After bathing, remove as much moisture as possible with a clean towel. This is especially important for dogs with thick, double, or long coats, where trapped moisture can lead to skin problems.
If you have a dog-specific dryer, use it to blow the remaining moisture from the coat. Otherwise, allow your dog to air dry indoors in a well-ventilated area. Avoid using a human hair dryer, as it can become too hot and may burn your dog's skin.
Don't Forget the Ears
Moisture trapped in the ears can lead to painful ear infections.
Gently dry your dog's ears with a clean towel or paper towel after swimming. If needed, use a veterinarian-approved ear cleaner to remove excess moisture and debris. Never insert cotton swabs or other objects deep into the ear canal.
Brush Once the Coat Is Dry
Once your dog is completely dry, brush the coat thoroughly to remove loose hair, prevent tangles, and improve air circulation to the skin. Regular brushing also helps distribute natural oils throughout the coat, keeping it healthier and shinier.
